A moment

I wrote this poem for someone special I met in 2019. Sometimes God gives us a mate for life and sometimes, only for a while.

Love without Bounds

Not only on Valentines Day, but every day, I have to remind myself that my Christian advice, my loving correction to help others and my best attempts to 'do the right thing' in my pursuit of perfection will always fall short of selfless, Christ-like love. We are called, above all, to love souls well.

The good fight of Faith

When you gaze at the sun, it makes everything else dark. When you taste honey, everything else is bland. So, when your soul feeds on Jesus, it takes away the sweetness of fleshly pleasures.

The sister life

December, 2018. I often wonder what it must feel like not having a sister, or as for me, two sisters. I am the eldest of two sisters (and a twin brother) and I’ve learned a lot about the world by having them in my life. Research even shows there are many proven benefits to sisters... What are you dreaming about?

Some of us dream about having the so-called American Dream - maybe some of you are already living the A-Dream. Others may be dreaming about having the dream career and being on top of the ladder in the cooperative world. Maybe your dream is to have grandchildren, to see your own children prosper, to get... How blessed are you?

It is 18:00 on a Friday night and as I sometimes work on Saturdays, I try to drink in my last bit of ‘weekend’.  I am enjoying a cup a coffee with the scent of vanilla candles and my favorite gospel music in the background, as I admire my incredible sunset view outside my window.... || Hoe begin jou... The Sun Will Shine Again

In what season of your life are you?   We can so easily become entangled in the idea that faith is only about joy. Especially at spiritual teen camps or listening to the world’s perception of Hedonism, we are prone to think that Christianity is only about eternal joy and gladness and prosperity. But as... Hoe... Continue Reading →

The World Out There

I wrote this letter to my sister on her 18th birthday. About the little I have learnt this far about life, love and God's underserving grace. || Dear Annie sis, I can't believe you are 18 already! You will always remain my little sister with the beautiful blonde hair that always hung in your face.... Continue Reading →
